Search related to 1946 Moore's Ford Lynching
During the past two days, Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) have conducted searches on property located on Michael Road in Walton County, Georgia in reference to the Moore’s Ford investigation. The Agents were following up on recent information received involving the 1946 murders. Agents located several items at the property that were taken to be processed for further analysis. The residents of the property are not suspects and are not expected to be charged in connection with the investigation.
As part of the search, an old military ordnance was discovered yesterday and detonated by a United States Army EOD Unit and the GBI Bomb Squad.
This effort is part of the continuing joint investigation into the 1946 Moore’s Ford Lynching by the FBI and the GBI.
Both the FBI and the GBI would like to thank the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for the support and logistics they provided during the search.
