Former Director of the McDonough Tourism Board Arrested
DECATUR – As a result of a GBI investigation requested by the McDonough Police Department, the former director of the McDonough Hospitality and Tourism Board has been charged with Theft by Taking. Leslie Chrysler, 25, was arrested today at 3:20pm at her residence in Covington by GBI Special Agent David Norman who was accompanied by McDonough detectives and Newton County Sheriff’s Deputies.
The GBI was requested to conduct the investigation on September 19 based on allegations received by the McDonough Police Department that Ms. Chrysler used the Tourism Board’s checking account to purchase $6,000 in airline tickets intended for personal use.
Chrysler was taken to the Henry County Jail.
The investigation into this matter is continuing with additional charges possible.
