Richmond Hill, GA (May 24, 2019) – On Thursday, May 23, 2019, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was requested by the Richmond Hill Police Department to assist with a death investigation located on Osprey Drive, Richmond Hill, Georgia. Preliminary investigation indicates that Larry Rankin, age 62, shot his wife, Susan Rankin, age 58, and then turned the weapon on himself, causing his own death. Preliminary autopsy results confirm the finding, but the final report has not been released.

The cause of the incident and dispute between the two parties has yet to be confirmed and determined.  The investigation remains active and ongoing.  Anyone with information concerning the investigation should call the GBI Statesboro office at (912) 871-1121.
