Sylvania, GA (February 5, 2019) - On Monday, January 28, 2019, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Screven County Sheriff’s Office arrested Steven H. Reddick, 48, for theft by taking. Reddick is accused of stealing approximately $10,000.00 worth of farming supplies and equipment from AGrowStar Grain, LLC. AGrowStar property was recovered from Reddick’s home during the execution of a search warrant in Burke County.

On Thursday, January 31, 2019, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Screven County Sheriff’s Office arrested Billy J. Sasser, 36, for theft by taking. Sasser is accused of stealing $34,000.00 worth of grain from AGrowStar. 

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Screven County Sheriff’s Office to assist in an investigation of a theft of approximately $500,000.00 worth of grain from a location within Screven County. Representatives of AGrowStar LLC, based out of Davisboro, GA, reported that employees and contractors were suspected of removing grain and selling it for personal gain.
