UPDATE - The subject involved in this officer involved shooting has been identified as Victoria Cabey, 32.

Atlanta, GA (February 3, 2019) – On Sunday, February 3, 2019, the GBI was requested by the Atlanta Police Department (APD) to investigate an officer involved shooting.

Preliminary information indicates that at approximately 7:51 AM, APD responded to a domestic incident at 620 Parkway Drive, NE, Atlanta, GA.  A female reportedly attacked the father of her children with a knife.  Upon arrival, an APD officer encountered a female subject with a knife in hand in the hallway of the apartment complex.  The female charged the male victim in the hallway with the knife.  The officer discharged his weapon, striking the female subject.  The female was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.  The male victim was cut by the female subject and treated on scene by EMS.

No officers were injured during this incident. 

The GBI investigation remains active and ongoing.  Once complete, it will be provided to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for review.
