Two Sought for Shooting at GBI Agents
MANCHESTER - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the Meriwether County Sheriff's Department and Manchester Police Department are currently searching for two individuals wanted in connection with an assault on two GBI agents. Law enforcement is seeking the assistance of the public to locate DEONTONI KABAH BROWN, black male, age 25, and DARIUS CORDEZ HARRIS, black male, age 21.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at approximately 6:00 p.m., two Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents were conducting a drug investigation in Manchester, Ga. The agents had contacted KANARZAY MONTEZ PRATHER, 21, at a residence at 913 Ira Parks Way. During the contact with PRATHER, additional individuals wearing ski masks and armed with firearms confronted the agents. Gunfire was exchanged between the armed individuals and the agents. Neither of the two agents were injured.
PRATHER was taken into custody at the scene. The other armed individuals fled the scene. ROBEZ OWENS, 22, also of Manchester was later arrested in connection with the assault.
Authorities are continuing to attempt to locate BROWN and HARRIS. Warrants have been issued for both individuals on two counts of Aggravated Assault and Criminal Attept to Commit Armed Robbery. Photos of BROWN and HARRIS are attached. These individuals should be considered armed and dangerous.
