On December 5, 2017, Brandon David Cannon, age 28, of Hart County was arrested on one count of child molestation.  On December 4, 2017, a complainant made a report to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.  Subsequently, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office requested that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) assist with the case.

Cannon was booked into the Hart County Jail without incident.  Cannon was a school teacher at South Hart Elementary School.  The investigation suggests the incident leading to the arrest did not occur on school property and did not occur at a school sponsored event.
