AMERICUS, GA - On Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Felecia Champion, age 22, Travis McGruder, age 23, and Simone Boone, age 19, were arrested by Special Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and investigators with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Department for “Sale of Marijuana”.  During an ongoing investigation involving illegal contraband being transported across guard lines at the Sumter County Correctional Institution (CI), information was obtained that the three were attempting to deliver marijuana to inmates.  The arrests took place on Rucker Street near Georgia Highway 19 near a work detail that was being conducted by inmates from the CI.  This is the location where the suspects attempted to make delivery of the Marijuana.
