GBI Makes Arrest in Infant Death Investigation
Moultrie, GA - On Thursday, August 24, 2017, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was requested by the Moultrie Police Department to assist with an investigation involving injuries to an infant. Zoee Martin, two-months-old, was originally admitted to Colquitt Regional Medical Center before being transported to Navicent Medical Center in Macon.
Martin died from her injuries on Sunday, August 27, 2017. An autopsy, performed at the GBI Crime Lab in Macon, found blunt force trauma to her head and body.
On Monday, August 28, 2017, Cedric Deshawn Martin, Jr, 17, was arrested and charged with Felony Murder and Cruelty to Children in the First Degree. Cedric Martin is Zoee Martin’s father.
