Clarkston, Georgia – On Friday, March 17, 2017, the Clarkston Police Department along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) responded to a person shot incident at 3906 East Ponce De Leon Avenue Clarkston, Georgia at a Texaco gas and food mart.  Initial information indicated that a fight occurred between two patrons of the store. The fight escalated to involve a third party identified as, Ernest Tyrell Bing, 40 years old, from Alpharetta, Georgia.  During the confrontation, Bing was shot.  Bing was transported by ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital where he died.  Another store patron, not involved in the fight, was shot in the arm and transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.  He was treated and released from the hospital. 

This is an active homicide investigation and critical interviews are continuing.  Anyone with information or anyone who was in the store at the time of the confrontation is asked to contact the Clarkston Police Department and/or the GBI.
