<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 /?>DECATUR – Today, agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation along with Georgia Tech Police arrested a 19 year-old Georgia Tech Freshman for manufacturing drivers' licenses.

Andrew C. Saunders of Canton was charged with Fraudulent ID Cards, in violation of Georgia Code 16-9-4. Agents executed a search warrant at Saunders dorm room and seized his computer and other electronic devices.  Other charges are likely, pending the forensic analysis of his computer.

This arrest comes 11 days after GBI agents arrested Jeremiah M. Vielmas, a 23 year-old Flowery Branch resident, for the same crime.

Saunders was selling fraudulent licenses to students at Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, the University of Alabama and to a college in Charleston, South Carolina.  Vielmas was selling altered Georgia Driver’s Licenses to students at Auburn University, Georgia Tech, UGA, and the University of Alabama.

These investigations, along with today’s Federal Grand Jury indictment of Al Amin Patni, 47, of Marietta are part of Governor Perdue’s Secure ID Initiative.
