Death Investigation in Coffee County, GA
Douglas, GA— On Monday, December 12, 2016, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Douglas Regional Office was requested by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office to assist in a death investigation in Coffee County, GA.
On Monday, December 12, 2016, at approximately 2:30 AM, deputies with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a portion of the CSX railway system between Dennis Harper Rd. and Palmetto Rd. in Coffee County, Georgia, in reference to a person being struck by a train. GBI agents and Coffee County investigators located the body of a black male who has not been identified. The body will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Macon for autopsy and identification.
