The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Smithville Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are seeking the public’s help in identifying the remains of an infant found in the Muckalee Creek on September 1, 2005.

A prison work crew discovered the body of an infant in a trash bag on the bank of the creek under the Muckalee Creek Bridge on Georgia Highway 118 east of Smithville, Georgia.  The body is that of a full term, African American, female infant.
