Hawkinsville, Georgia - On June 20, 2016, the GBI and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lance Eric Pitts, age 17, of Hawkinsville in connection with the shooting death of Michael Mays.  Mays was shot to death at his residence in Hawkinsville on June 6th while gathered together with acquaintances.  Pitts has been charged with one count of Felony Involuntary Manslaughter, one count of Pointing or Aiming Gun or Pistol at Another, and one count of Reckless Conduct.  The investigation was conducted by the GBI Regional Office in Eastman and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
