Tunnel Hill Police Officer Arrested
Tunnel Hill, GA - On Wednesday, March 30, 2016, Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agents arrested Tunnel Hill Police Officer Scott Reneau, age 47, for one count of violation of oath of office and two counts of theft by taking.
On Wednesday, March 23, 2016, Tunnel Hill Police Chief Roy Brunson requested the GBI to investigate allegations of missing money from the Tunnel Hill Police Department’s evidence room. The missing money totaling over $37,000 dollars stemmed from multiple traffic stops that Reneau conducted in 2015. Reneau turned himself into the Whitfield County Jail following the issuance of his arrest warrants.
This investigation remains active and ongoing.
