Robert Brooks, 38, of New York was arrested for the murder of Duane Hollenbeck late Thursday evening (Jan. 21, 2016). Brooks was apprehended by authorities in Knoxville, Tennessee and will be extradited back to Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia to face charges.

Arrest in Chickamauga Battlefield Park Murder

Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia – On January 12, 2016 the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Fort Oglethorpe Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation charged and arrested Jennifer DeMott, 25, of New York for the murder of Duane Hollenbeck, age 59. Hollenbeck was found dead inside the Chickamauga Battle Field National Park on December 12, 2015.  New York State Police had been investigating Hollenbeck’s disappearance from his Dryden, New York home, prior to his body being found in the Georgia national park.  Hollenbeck’s death was a result of blunt force trauma to the head. DeMott was also charged with exploitation of an elder or disabled person as part of murder investigation.  DeMott remains in custody in the Catoosa County Jail.
