Homerville, GA - On Monday, December 7th, the GBI’s Douglas Regional Office received a request by the Homerville Police Department to assist with an officer involved shooting involving two Homerville Police Officers. 
 
On Monday, December 7th at approximately 11:30 PM, Officer Robert Woeller and Officer Tim Mow were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Larry Wayne Johnson.  Johnson attempted to drive away and both Officers struggled to remove him from the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officer Woeller fired his duty weapon in an attempt to prevent Johnson from hitting Officer Mow.  No one was struck or injured.  Johnson’s vehicle was later found abandoned. 
 
Johnson turned himself into the Clinch County Sheriff’s Office early Tuesday morning, December 8th.  Johnson was charged with one count of aggravated assault on a peace officer, two counts of obstruction of a police officer, one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and one count of fleeing and attempting to allude.  Johnson is currently being held in the Clinch County Jail.
