DeKalb County, GA (September 24, 2026) - At the request of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, GBI agents are investigating the death of David Addo-Wright, age 24, of Covington, GA, who was an inmate in the DeKalb County Jail.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, DeKalb County deputies found Addo-Wright unresponsive in a cell with several wounds. Addo-Wright was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Addo-Wright’s body was taken to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy was conducted.
