GBI Investigates Aggravated Assault in Americus—One Man Wanted
UPDATE - January 18, 2025
On January 17, 2025, at about 9:00 p.m., Sales turned himself in to the Sumter County Sheriffs Office. Sales was charged with Home Invasion, Cruelty to Children in the 1st degree, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, along with the original two counts of Aggravated Assault.

Americus, Sumter County, GA (January 13, 2025) - At the request of the Americus Police Department, GBI agents are investigating an aggravated assault in Americus.
On Monday, January 13, 2025, at about 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a home on Oak Avenue, in Americus, Sumter County, GA, where a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
One suspect has been identified as Joseph Quantez “Quan” Sales, age 31, of Americus, GA. Arrest warrants have been obtained for Sales for two counts of Aggravated Assault. Sales is not in custody at this time.
