Desoto, Sumter County, GA (June 18, 2024) — At the request of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, GBI agents are investigating the death of Destiny Adams, age 19, of Americus, GA. 

Deputies responded to the Low Key club in the 100 block of Main Street in Desoto, Sumter County, GA, where two people had been shot. Adams and the other victim were taken to Phoebe Sumter Hospital for treatment. Adams later died at Phoebe Putney in Albany. The other person who had been shot was later released from the hospital in Americus.

An autopsy was performed on Adams’ body at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office at the Macon Crime Lab.
