Blairsville, GA (September 15, 2023) – The GBI has arrested and charged Christopher Daniel Lovell, 42, of Blairsville, Georgia with aggravated child molestation and sodomy. On Friday, September 15, 2023, the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Cleveland was requested by the Union County Sheriff’s Office to assist them with a child abuse investigation.

While the investigation is still active and ongoing, preliminary information gathered in the investigation led to the charges against Lovell. Lovell was booked into the Union County Detention Center.

Additional charges against Lovell are anticipated.

Lovell is a former employee of the Union County School System. The Union County School System has been cooperative with the investigation. 

Upon completion of the investigation, the case will be provided to the Enotah Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
