GBI Arrests Atlanta Man for Vandalism of Georgia Department of Public Safety Building
On Thursday, February 25, 2021, Andrew Carlisle was arrested in connection with the vandalism of the Georgia Department of Public Safety Headquarters building.
On Sunday, July 5, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Georgia Department of Public Safety to investigate damage and destruction of property at their headquarters located at 959 United Avenue, SE, in Atlanta.
Through the investigation, Carlisle, 29, of Atlanta, was identified as causing damage to a building and a Georgia State Patrol vehicle. Carlisle was among a group of individuals that threw stones and incendiary devices through windows and spray painted graffiti during the incident.
Carlisle was charged with one count of riot (misdemeanor) and two felony counts of criminal interference with government property. He is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail on an unrelated charge.
