Newton Man’s Death Being Treated as a Homicide
Newton, GA– On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at approximately 12 p.m., Newton Police Chief Jesse Rivers requested assistance from the Sylvester Field Office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in conducting a death investigation. William Land, approximately 87 years of age, was found deceased inside of his residence at 241 Clearlake Road, Newton, GA. His body was discovered when a wellness check was conducted on him by local law enforcement.
Land was transported to the GBI Crime lab in Macon where an autopsy was conducted. The investigation into his death is being treated as a homicide.
