GBI Makes Arrest in Death Investigation in Forsyth, GA

Forsyth, GA (November 23, 2019) – On Saturday, November 23, 2019, the GBI arrested Jazma Rashiid Banks, 32, of Forsyth, GA for the murder of David Jordan, 41, of Forsyth, GA.

On Friday, November 22, 2019, at approximately 10:59 p.m., the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a 911 call regarding a person shot at Union Hill Apartments, 235 Union Hill Drive in Forsyth, Monroe County, GA. Forsyth Police Department officers responded to the area and upon arrival, they discovered David Jordan had suffered what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation revealed that David Jordan and Jazma Rashiid Banks, age 32, of Forsyth, GA, were located at the Union Hill Apartments, where they had an altercation with each other. During the altercation, Banks shot Jordan, striking him and causing his death. 

David Jordan was transported to the GBI Crime Lab, where an autopsy will be performed.
