GBI Makes Arrest in Soperton Water Theft Investigation
Soperton, GA (October 7, 2019) – On Friday, October 4, 2019, the GBI arrested Shaquoiya Taylor, 27, in connection with an internal theft that occurred while employed with the City of Soperton as the Assistant City Clerk.
On Monday, September 30, 2019, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Eastman office was requested to conduct an investigation into former City of Soperton employee, Shaquoiya Taylor. Taylor was suspected of failing to pay her water utility payments over a period of several months. The discovery of the non-payments were made during an internal audit by the City of Soperton. Taylor has been charged with felony theft of services due to being in a fiduciary position.
