GBI Investigates Officer Involved Shooting in Bibb County
Bibb County, GA (January 23, 2024) - At the request of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, GBI agents are investigating an officer involved shooting in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. Jordan Rozier, age of 17, of Macon, GA, was injured in the incident. No deputies were injured in this incident.
Preliminary information indicates Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies received information about the location of a stolen vehicle from a flock camera system. The deputies located the vehicle on Grenada Terrace, Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. As the deputies approached the stolen vehicle, two people got out of the vehicle and ran from the area. As Rozier was running away, he turned towards the deputies and fired a gun in their direction. In response, deputies fired their guns, hitting Rozier. Rozier was taken into custody and to a hospital for medical treatment. The other suspect left the area and was not captured.
The GBI will conduct an independent investigation. Once complete, the case file will be given to the Bibb Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
