Norcross, GA (April 7, 2020) – On Tuesday, April 7, 2020, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) to investigate an officer involved shooting.
Preliminary information indicates that at approximately 1:25 a.m., troopers attempted to stop a vehicle driving with no headlights. The driver was taken to Northside Hospital Gwinnett where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury. The vehicle was later found to be stolen in Gwinnett County.
No troopers were injured during the incident.
The GBI will continue its independent investigation. Once completed, it will be turned over to the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office for review.
