The juvenile shot the female DJJ officer in the hand and the male DJJ officer shot the juvenile.

The juvenile was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where he is being treated for his injuries and is in the custody of DJJ. The female officer was treated and released.

The GBI will conduct its independent investigation. Once complete, it will be turned over to the Henry County District Attorney’s Office for review.
