Tifton, GA – On December 4, 2015, Devontae Carter, age 20, was arrested and charged with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.  William Carter, age 22, and Ralph Garmon, age 49, were arrested and charged with False Statements and Writings.  These arrests were made as a result of a joint investigation conducted by the GBI’s Sylvester Regional Office and the Tift County Sheriff’s Office.

On November 27, 2015 at approximately 2:50 a.m., investigators responded to a shooting that occurred at 3105 Wilton Avenue in Tift County, Georgia.  Upon arrival, investigators were informed of one deceased victim, Dexter Lampkin of Tifton, 29, and another victim Gregory Lampkin of Tifton, age 26, being treated for an apparent gunshot wound.  Both individuals were attending a gathering at the Wilton Avenue address when the shooting occurred. 

The Carters and Garmon were booked into the Tift County Jail.
