Warrenton, GA. – On Saturday, November 14, 2015, the GBI was requested to assist the City of Warrenton Police Department in the investigation of a shooting incident.  The investigation revealed that Johnny Mack Coxwell confronted Paul Hill outside of Coxwell’s residence.  Hill fled the location on foot and was shot once by Coxwell, resulting in a non-life threatening injury.

As a result of the investigation, and after consultation with the District Attorney, Coxwell was charged with the offense of Aggravated Assault in the shooting of Paul Hill.  Warrants for Hill have also been obtained for the offenses of Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools which will be served upon his release from the hospital. 

Any requests for mug shot photographs of Coxwell should be made to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
