Alamo, GA – In May 2015, the Oconee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office requested the GBI investigate allegations of stolen government funds from the City of Alamo.

On Friday, August 28, 2015, the GBI arrested Alamo Mayor Debbie Fountain and Alamo City Clerk Gail Brown on charges relating to the investigation. Fountain and Brown have each been charged with one count of Felony Theft by Taking. Fountain and Brown have turned themselves in to the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
