Washington, GA. – On Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at approximately 8:30 AM, the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding the body of an elderly female being found in a ditch on Gordon Street in Washington, Georgia. Upon arrival of Sheriff’s Office personnel it was determined that the female was deceased. The GBI Thomson field office was requested to assist with the investigation.

The victim has been identified as Neta Lee Adams, 81 years old, of Washington. Adams’ body has been transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur where an autopsy will be performed on Thursday.   

The GBI and the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office are continuing the investigation. The GBI is asking that anyone with information concerning this investigation to call the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office at 706-678-2224 or the GBI Office at 706-595-2575.
