Norcross, GA – The Norcross Police Department requested the GBI investigate a police involved shooting this morning. Initial reports to the GBI are that sometime between 12:30 and 1:00 AM Norcross PD responded to a disturbance call at 5521 Brookhollow Parkway in Norcross. When the officer arrived at the scene he observed a man, later identified as Dwight Jones, 20, discharging a firearm. The officer returned fire. 

As a result of the incident Rolandus Bailey, 19, and Darnel Hamilton, 18, who were in the area, were shot. Both men were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center where they are being treated for their injuries. 

Dwight Jones was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault on a police office and one count of aggravated assault. Aaron Zachary, 20, was arrested on a probation violation warrant. 

The GBI will conduct a thorough and complete investigation to determine what occurred. When the investigation is completed, the results will be turned over to the district attorney's office.
