HOMERVILLE - On Wednesday night, January 4, 2012, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation obtained a murder warrant for Tanisha Evette Clark in reference to the homicide of Theodore Thomas Jr in Homerville, Clinch County Georgia, which occurred January 1, 2012.  Clark, 21-years-old, was arrested in Homerville and is currently incarcerated at the Clinch County jail. The Homerville Police Department requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Douglas office to assist in the investigation.

On January 1, 2012, shortly before 6:00am, Clinch County 911 received a call in reference to a male who had collapsed at the residence of Tanisha Clark at the Brookwood Apartments. Upon arrival, the Homerville Police Department discovered Theodore Thomas Jr, 30-years-old, unresponsive and with a small amount of blood on his shirt. EMS was called and attempted to revive the victim with no success.
The GBI Crime Lab performed an autopsy on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, and determined the cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest area of Thomas.

As a result of the investigation, Shyrell Yvette Clark, 19-years-old, was charged with tampering with evidence and Bobby Joe Clark, 64-years-old, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a firearm into a public place. Both of the above individuals are related to Tanisha Clark and reside in Valdosta, Georgia.

The investigation is still on-going; therefore no other details will be released at this time. The Homerville Police Department and GBI Douglas Office are conducting the investigation with assistance from the Clinch County Sheriff’s Office.
