Jesup, GA - On Wednesday, June 29, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from GBI Kingsland to investigate the death of Ron Burch, age 41, of Screven Georgia who was shot and killed in his driveway late Wednesday night.

As result of the investigation into Burch’s death, James Edwin Anderson, age 57, was arrested by Sheriff John Carter and Wayne County Deputies when Anderson arrived at the Wayne County Sheriff Office. Warrants for two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, felony murder and malice murder are being sought at this time.

Anderson is being held in the Wayne County Law Enforcement Center.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Screven Police Department, GBI Kingsland and GBI Statesboro continue to investigate.
