Rockmart, Ga. – As result of a GBI investigation requested by Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrels, agents have arrested Rockmart police officer Randy Poole on one count of cruelty to children, second degree.

Chief Sorrels requested the GBI investigation on February 10 after he was made aware of allegations against Poole, a four-year officer with the Rockmart Police Department.

Agents with the GBI’s Calhoun office obtained the arrest warrant for Poole after consulting with Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit DA Bobby Brooks.

The investigation continues.
