One Arrest Made in Newton County Murder. Victim's Truck Still Missing
ANNISTON, AL – Investigators with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI have charged 22-year-old Pablo Maldonado of Covington in connection with the murder of Timothy Clements. Clements’ body was found Friday in a creek in Newton County.
Maldonado was picked up by police in Anniston, Alabama early Sunday morning and was served with a murder warrant this afternoon at the Anniston Police Department by Newton County Sheriff’s investigators and the GBI. Maldonado will be transported to Newton County tomorrow.
Clements, who worked as a landscaper, had been reported missing by his family on Friday at 11:30am. He was last seen leaving for work on Thursday at 6:00am.
The investigation into Clements’ murder is continuing. His truck, a 1991 red, Ford F150, Georgia tag 955BJR is still missing.
