PIERCE COUNTY SHOOTING RESULTS IN ARRESTS
Blackshear- The Pierce County Sheriff's Office and GBI Douglas Office have arrested three adult males and one juvenile male in reference to a shooting which occurred on Thursday, December 18, 2008 in PierceCountyGeorgia. The victim, Sean Howard, 21 YOA, was shot and wounded near the intersection of Highway 203 and James Loop in Pierce County. Howard, who lives in Pierce County, was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening wounds.
The adult males were all from Alma. Qunicy Lee Bess, 20 YOA, Davalon Brinson, 23 YOA, and Antonio Knox, 20 YOA, were each arrested for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and Obstruction. The juvenile is currently in custody at a RYDC and could be charged as an adult after the DA reviews the case.
After the assault took place, a lookout was issued for the suspects' vehicle. A Pierce County Deputy observed the vehicle and after a brief pursuit, the suspects abandoned the vehicle in Bacon County and fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.
The Bacon County Sheriffs Office, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, Blackshear Police Department, Alma Police Department, GBI, GSP, Ware County C.I. Canine Unit, and Altamaha Drug Task Force were involved with the search and subsequent arrest of the subjects allegedly involved in the shooting incident. The Jesup Police Department also assisted in the investigation.
