Thomson, GA (March 31, 2019) – On Saturday, March 30,2019, at approximately 2:17 A.M., the GBI was requested to assist the Thomson Police Department with a homicide investigation that occurred behind a residence in the 200 block of Jones Road. At approximately 1:40 A.M., officers with the Police Department were dispatched to the Jones Road residence in reference to a person being shot.  Upon arrival, officers discovered that Charles Willingham, 63 years old, had been shot. Willingham was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s body will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur, GA where an autopsy will be performed at a later time. The investigation is ongoing.
