DECATUR, GA - The GBI and the Macon County Sheriff's Office are seeking the public's help in identifying a body found on Friday at approximately 5:00 p.m. alongside a rural Macon County road near the Macon-Taylor County line.
 
The body of a white male, 20 to 30 years of age, approximately 5' 8" to 6' 1" feet tall, 160-180 lbs, with brown hair, was spotted by a passing school bus driver and students.  The white male was wearing South Pole denim shorts, size 36" waist, a light-grey T-shirt with a black rooster emblem on the front and a black leather belt with silver studs. 

An autopsy today at the GBI crime lab in Decatur revealed that this individual had had surgery on his right thigh at some point during his life. The GBI Medical Examiner found a surgical rod and 4 pins in the right thigh and from numbers and symbols on the surgical rod determined that it is used for pediatric implants.   From these numbers and symbol, he has also identified the manufacturer of the rod. GBI Agents are now following up with the manufacturer in an effort to determine what area and possibly at which hospital the surgery was performed.

The cause of death is not being released at this time due to the investigative value but the death is being treated as a homicide. 

The GBI Medical Examiner who performed the autopsy on this victim has determined from numbers and symbols on the surgical rod that it is used for pediatric implants.   From these numbers and symbol, he has also identified the manufacturer of the rod. GBI Agents are now following up with the manufacturer in an effort to determine what area and possibly at which hospital the surgery was performed.
