Irwinton, Ga. - Lisa Brooks, the Irwinton City Clerk, and Roger Ford, the employee responsible for street maintenance, were arrested today and charged with Theft by Taking by agents of the GBI Milledgeville Office.

The arrests stemmed from an investigation requested by District Attorney Fred Bright on March 8, 2012 after an annual audit revealed money missing from the city.

Brooks and Ford both turned themselves in to the Wilkinson County Jail this afternoon and bond was set for Brooks at $15,000 and Ford for $10,000.
