Georgia Tech Employee Arrested
ATLANTA - Today, agents from the GBI’s Atlanta Regional Office arrested Georgia Tech employee Merideth Durrah and charged her with Theft by Taking and Forgery (both felonies) for her role in stealing approximately $10,000 from Georgia Tech.
The investigation revealed that Durrah, a Program Coordinator in the College of Sciences, stole the identity of an Illinois resident and had payroll checks issued in that person’s name. Durrah, 38, of Jonesboro, then took possession of the fraudulent payroll checks.
The investigation, which began this week at the request of the Attorney General’s Office, is continuing and additional charges are possible.
