GBI Investigates Armed Robbery/Murder in Fitzgerald, GA
Fitzgerald, GA – On Tuesday, August 09, 2016, at approximately 4:45 PM, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene of an apparent armed robbery and shooting at the request of the Fitzgerald Police Department.
On Tuesday, August 09, 2016, at approximately 4:30 P.M., officers of the Fitzgerald Police Department (FPD) were dispatched to the Global Meat Market, formerly the Rockin’ Pig Country Market, 715 North Merrimac Drive, Fitzgerald, Ben Hill County, GA pursuant to a shooting victim at that location. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the store clerk, Narendrakumar J. Patel, had been shot inside the store, during an apparent armed robbery. Patel, 32 years old, died from his wounds at the scene.
