Arrest Made in Macon County Shooting Death
MACON COUNTY, GA - On Monday, November 9, 2009, at approximately 1:45 p.m., the GBI was requested by the Macon County Sheriff's Department to investigate a shooting which occurred outside a residence at 3522 Camp John Hope Road in Fort Valley, Georgia in Macon County.
When investigators arrived at the residence they found that 24-year-old Octavius Terill Haslam had received a single gunshot wound. Haslam was pronounced dead at the scene. As result of the investigation, Jerome Riley III, 21, has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder in the shooting death of Haslam.
