GBI Requested to Investigate a Murder in Effingham County
Springfield, Georgia - On Saturday, September 26, 2015, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Springfield Police Department to investigate the death of 39 year-old Nova Jill Saffles. The preliminary findings are that Saffles was fatally shot inside her residence located at 404 N. Maple Street, Springfield, Georgia. The shooting appears to be the result of a domestic dispute between Saffles and her 52 year-old boyfriend, Louis Vendrell Larges. Larges was subsequently arrested during a traffic stop by deputies in Effingham County. Larges is currently being held at the Effingham County Jail pending Murder charges.
The investigation is in its preliminary stages and is still ongoing.
An autopsy of Saffles' body will be conducted by the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office.
