Sandersville, GA – On Sunday, September 6, 2015, the Sandersville Police Department requested GBI assistance with the investigation of a shooting which occurred that morning outside of the residence located at 513 Carver Street.  The initial investigation revealed that there was an altercation between Derrick Jamal Kitchens, 31 and another man who in turn shot Kitchens. Kitchens, of Tennille, was transported to the hospital and died later that morning. Later that day, the investigation led to the arrest of Quintarus Henderson, 27, of Sandersville. Henderson is charged with one count of Murder. Sandersville Police and the GBI were assisted in the investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles. The investigation is ongoing.
