Cordele, GA – A joint investigation by the Americus office of the GBI and the Cordele Police Department has resulted in the arrest of Jamie Fernandez, 35 year old Hispanic male, who is a councilman for the city of Cordele.  At approximately 8:30 am on Thursday, January 15, 2015 the Cordele Police Department received a call in reference to a domestic disturbance which was occurring at 2609 Old Hatley Road. Once officers arrived they found a female victim who had been injured and the victim was transported and treated at the local hospital.

As a result of the investigation Fernandez was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault. Fernandez is currently located at the Crisp County Jail.
