Monroe, GA (October 17, 2020) -  On Friday, October 16, 2020, at approximately 4:35 p.m., Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call of a person being shot at an address off Jack Glass Road in Monroe, Walton County, GA. When deputies arrived, immediate assistance was provided to the gunshot victim, identified as Henry Thomas McDougal, 27, of Monroe. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. James Lewis McDougal, 31, of Monroe, surrendered to deputies a short time later. He was taken into custody and is being charged with murder. Henry McDougal and James McDougal are brothers. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office requested the GBI Athens Office to assist with the investigation. Henry McDougal will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur for an autopsy.
