The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are seeking the public’s help in identifying two men in connection with an armed robbery at a Clarkesville pawn shop. (See photographs.)
The robbery took place on July 1 at Clarkesville Pawn & Sales, located on Highway 441 in unincorporated Habersham County. Two Hispanic males entered the store at approximately 5:30 p.m., held the clerk at gunpoint, and left with $2,000 in cash and an estimated $20,000 worth of jewelry. The men reportedly were traveling in a late 1990’s silver Ford Thunderbird. The men captured on the convenience store video were believed to be traveling in a Thunderbird matching the description of the getaway car. The convenience store is near the pawn shop and the men were seen at the store minutes before the robbery.
