Here’s how you know
Local, state, and federal government websites often end in .gov. State of Georgia government websites and email systems use “georgia.gov” or “ga.gov” at the end of the address. Before sharing sensitive or personal information, make sure you’re on an official state website.
Call 1-800-GEORGIA to verify that a website is an official website of the State of Georgia.
Please note: You must contact your local law enforcement agency or district attorney to request an investigation. Under Georgia law, the GBI, as an assisting agency, can ONLY respond to requests for investigations from those listed at the GBI Investigative Division "request for assistance" page. Also, we cannot respond to requests for GBI patches due to security concerns.
1. GBI’s 24 Hour Communications Center: 404-244-2600
We must stress that the GBI is not a first responder organization and by statute must be requested by a criminal justice agency before it can open a criminal investigation. Please contact your local law enforcement agency to report criminal activity. They will in turn request assistance from the GBI where it is appropriate.
2. GBI Investigative Reports, Crime Lab Reports, Etc.
